Software Systems Engineer

Logical Technology and Research (LTR) seeks a Software Systems Engineer (SSE) to provide technical service and support to assist the with the configuration and integration of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) IT Operations Management software products for a client agency.

The SSE should be familiar with HPE software packages including: Network Node Manager i Ultimate (NNMi), Network Automation (NA), BSA Essentials, Automation Insight, Operations Bridge, Application Performance Management (APM — formerly BSM), Universal CMDB, SiteScope, and LoadRunner. The SSE will help the client manage its network infrastructure and critical business applications; improve service levels; and diagnose and correct issues quickly in order to minimize customer downtime. Additionally, the SE will provide technical services and assistance to properly architect and configure/integrate HPE products APM, NNMi and NA to monitor and manage a LAN and WAN infrastructure.

The client is located in Columbus, Ohio. It is anticipated that the majority of the hours will be spent onsite. It is also understood that some of the hours will be spent on the planning meetings and developing the project plan/schedule.

Key Functions for this position

  • Formulates/defines specifications for complex operating software programming applications or modifies/maintains complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer.
  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents the relevant software programs.
  • Provides overall operating system maintenance, such as sophisticated file maintenance routines, large telecommunications networks, computer accounting, and advanced mathematical/scientific software packages.
  • Assists all phases of software systems programming applications. Evaluates new and existing software products.
